Background
The days preceding the outbreak of World War V were incredibly turbulent. On February 3, 2011, the Army of Club Penguin released a post pledging to provide support to the Doritos of Club Penguin if they required it against the Night Warriors. Prior to this, NW had invaded several servers belonging to DCP, denouncing them as “terrorists”. In ACP’s post, entitled Operation: Get Pop, they accused the Warriors of continuing to be threatening towards themselves and DCP, while acknowledging that the Doritos’ leader, Wwebestfan, had already apologized for his behaviour and surrendered to NW. NW responded on the same day, accusing the Clovers of supporting terrorism, and warning the army not to attack them before February 18.
Tension had been growing between ACP and NW for various reasons. The armies had previously faced each other during the Legends Cup, and ACP was seeking to maintain its position on the Top Ten. Both armies had expressed a desire to war against each other, but, at least for a while peace prevailed between the two. ACP’s leader, Mchappy had signed an armistice agreement with NW, with the agreement seemingly being that ACP would not attack NW before February 18. For this reason, ACP’s decision to assist DCP at the beginning of February seemed illogical.

DCP battles NW prior to ACP’s involvement
February 6, 2011
On the weekend of February 5-6, several battles took place on both days. NW sought to take three servers from DCP on the 6th with the assistance of the Nachos. They successfully won battles for Hockey and Snowfall, but an ACP-backed Doritos defended Snowbound. These invasions cemented ACP’s involvement in the war, expanding it into World War V, but it would not be without controversy.
Night Warriors, referring back to the armistice agreement they had, published a post on the same day as the invasions claiming ownership of ACP’s empire due to ACP’s “attack” on them. ACP was quick to defy this and sought out multiple ways to bypass the agreement. Firstly, Mchappy claimed that he had intentionally written the date the agreement would end as “Fevuary”, rather than February, and that nullified the agreement, a line of reasoning that NW did not accept. As well as this, he claimed that ACP had not directly attacked the Warriors, and only fought them defensively.

Despite both armies’ claims, they looked past the disagreement. NW confirmed that they would be going to war with ACP, and agreed to return all servers they had previously made a claim to, except Mammoth. ACP, on the other hand, scheduled invasions on the servers anyway, claiming victory in several subsequent invasions, while contesting others.

World War V Continues
Having gotten past the events of February 6, the war continued on with the Dark Warriors also getting involved, initially on NW’s side. Throughout most of the month, the competition was fierce with multiple armies battling on each side, but in the final days, the side headed by the Night Warriors had weakened. Following the battle of Fog, in which ACP came out triumphant, DW made the decision to not only leave NW’s side, but to join ACP’s alliance. Not long after that, the Nachos pulled out from the war, leading to the Night Warriors’ surrender on February 26. Thus, World War V came to a close, and ACP, alongside their allies, emerged victorious.

ACP dominates the battle for Fog
It is clear February 6 was one of the most crucial dates in the beginning of World War V, turning ACP’s involvement from only defending, to launching their own invasions on the Night Warriors. How important do you think World War V is in Club Penguin Army history? Do you agree with the outcome of the war? Which side of the war would you have joined?
