Help Force Hosts “A Dollar Per Penguin” Charity Event

As 2024 came to a close, Help Force brought the community together for an inspiring cause: raising funds through their unique charity event. For every penguin who logged on, they pledged to donate a dollar, creating a fun yet impactful way to make a difference.

On January 4th, Help Force hosted a special fundraiser event where every penguin’s participation made a difference. Although it was originally a dollar per penguin, matching donors raised contributions to $5 per penguin. Thanks to their thoughtful planning, HF managed to max 71 penguins at the event. This meant 355 dollars would be donated to the charities their members chose.

The army ensured fair donation distribution by prioritizing the top three causes with the most community votes, awarding them larger contributions. However, smaller donations were also allocated to other causes to ensure no vote was left unacknowledged. This approach allowed the army to support a wider range of initiatives while particularly focusing on the most popular ones.

HF’s max size during the event

In December 2023, HF hosted a similar event, raising $43 by donating $1 per penguin from 43 participants. Instead of donating the full amount to a single organization, they divided it among all the selected causes. These causes included ‘Give Emergency Aid in Palestine,’ ‘Support Families in South Sudan Through Innovation,’ ‘Protect Filipinos from Climate Emergencies,’ and several others.

Help Force has shown once again that Christmas is a season of generosity. This year, they nearly doubled their previous year’s size, allowing them to provide even more support to those in need.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Diwix, HF’s Leader in Training to hear more from him about the fundraiser.

What inspired you to hold a fundraising event this year, near the New Year’s celebration?

Well, this fundraising event is something the Help Force is no stranger to. A tradition that has begun in the past that we try to continue on for a second time this year. It’s a season where people celebrate through giving, which is a value we hold dearly as Helpers.

What were your expectations surrounding the event?

Well, to be fair, our team tried our best to hype up this event for a good cause. With a lot of excitement surrounding the Helper community, we did anticipate a sizeable max for our event. But I would be lying if I didn’t say that 71 exceeded our expectations.

Would you call this event a success?

Oh definitely. This event has left us very proud and joyful. We were able to raise a total of 355USD for charity, which is a MASSIVE amount, much higher than what we expected (those who know). A huge thanks goes out to all the Helpers, Allies and Visitors that aided us in achieving this noble goal.

The success of A Dollar Per Penguin appears to have motivated the Help Force community to take action once again and put their best effort into raising funds for charity. This fundraiser wasn’t about HF or the army community— it was about making a difference for those in genuine need. Do you think other armies should host fundraiser events? What charity would you donate to?
