The tides have turned in the community, as two prominent forces swap positions. The Water Vikings, who rose to Major classification just a month ago, have now downgraded to Small-Medium. Meanwhile, the Templars have surged back into the Major league, reclaiming a position they previously held.
The Templars’ return to Major status is a testament to their resilience and adaptability after months as a Small/Medium army. Frequent leadership changes in recent months have brought fresh energy and focus to the army, sparking a resurgence in their activity and performance. While their early elimination from the Christmas Chaos tournament at the hands of the Aliens was a setback, the Templars have much to celebrate. Their climb back to Major classification marks a significant achievement, highlighting their determination to reclaim a dominant position in the community. This upward momentum raises anticipation for what the Templars will achieve in the coming months.
The Water Vikings’ fall to Small/Medium status marks a surprising turn after an eventful and ambitious year. In July, the army entered a lockdown, halting all operations as they addressed internal issues and leadership uncertainties. Just a month later, they returned with renewed energy, signaling a strong comeback to the community. By November, their efforts paid off as they achieved Major status under Raven, who was promoted only days earlier. Shortly after, they declared war on the Special Weapons and Tactics, aiming to solidify their dominance and showcase their renewed strength.
However, they notably chose not to participate in the coveted Christmas Chaos tournament, a decision that left many in the community puzzled. Despite these bold moves, their recent downgrade in classification raises questions about the challenges they faced in sustaining consistent activity. Club Penguin Armies approached Raven to gain more insight.
What were the reasons behind WV’s fall back to S/M classification?
The reason behind WV’s fall back to S/M is the fact WV by itself wasnt really a major army anytime recently. Our major status was heavily reliant on allies attending which creates an illusion if being big, which we are not at the moment. Also, a lot if us had more real life obligations than before, either exams, work or anything else.
How does WV plan to climb back up to major? How long do you think it would take to achieve that?
Well, the second question is a bit trickier. We are aware of the issues WV sufferd from, and the leadership is actively working on a plan that is going to bring us back to our former glory. While I can not share too much yet, we are going to be clear and communicate the happenings in WV during this ‘reconstruction’ period. Also, not that I (and some others here also) dont believe that classifications matter that much, I will not get sad if our avarage size id 19.5 instead of 20.1 to be honest. For the lenght, I would say a few weeks, maybe a month shall be enough for the status.
The community experienced significant shifts, with the Templars rising and the Water Vikings falling in classification. The Templars reclaimed Major status after leadership changes, overcoming challenges despite an early Christmas Chaos elimination by the Aliens. Meanwhile, the Water Vikings fell to Small-Medium, with leader Raven citing reliance on allies and real-life obligations as key factors to the drop. However, Raven remains optimistic, emphasizing plans for a transparent reconstruction phase to restore the army’s strength and activity. How will these pivotal moments shape the near future of the community? Do you think Templars will sustain this rise? Will it take for the Vikings to return?
