On December 15, Maguro, leader of the Templars of Club Penguin, announced his departure from the leadership team. This follows the Templars’ shocking defeat in Christmas Chaos XIV.
History with the templars
Maguro first joined Templars of Club Penguin in early 2021, shortly after working his way up to the rank of Moderator. Unfortunately, he parted ways with the army, caused by a dispute with former TCP leader Xing. However, after a hiatus lasting a year or two, Maguro returned to the army community, in early 2023. Maguro also advanced from the role of Moderator to Leader-in-Training. During 2023, he went on a short hiatus/retirement but returned during May 2024, progressing through High Command, and eventually becoming leader.
Why now?
Over the past weeks, Templars have been regaining their presence in the army community. They have jumped from the bottom half of the top ten to most recently spot number four. This resurgence in activity could be attributed to the Christmas Chaos tournament. TCP hoped to return to their former glory and bring home the trophy, however, after being eliminated in the quarter-finals, by the Aliens, these hopes are gone. This could be a potential reason as to why Maguro decided to leave. Other factors include his decline in activity.
In light of recent events, Club Penguin Armies reached out to Maguro to get a statement regarding his departure.
Why did you leave TCP leadership, and will you still be active in the army and the army community following your retirement?
To conclude, it is clear that Maguro’s retirement from the Templars will have a lasting impact on the army, and he will be sorely missed. But what comes next? Do you think there will be a replacement coming down the line? Will Maguro move on to a new army, or find his own? We’d love to know your thoughts. Whilst these events are all possible, only time will tell, so be sure to stick around and find out.
