CPA Ice Breakers: Shinzo

Welcome to the tenth edition of CPA Ice Breakers, where we have fun with members around the community and learn more about them. In this edition, we feature the Winged Hussars’ leader and Senior Reporter Shinzo.

Designed by Gabgeirl

Shinzo popped into the army community in May 2018 in an unusual manner. Rather than being recruited into an army, he created his own army, the Club Penguin Socialist Movement alongside his friend, GaryChalmers. He took inspiration from armies such as the Rebel Penguin Federation, which he wanted to imitate, unknowingly forming his own. Shortly after this, he was asked by Xing to join his army, the Templars, in a war. Following the disputes with multiple armies brought out by the Pirates, the CPSM took a step back and eventually closed in October. Soon after, he joined the Templars and rapidly ranked up to Grand Prior.

Furthermore, following the Rebellion against the Templars, Shinzo was involved in the formation of the Winged Hussars. Officially formed in January 2019, he remained as leader until September. Additionally, Shinzo revived the Hussars on October 29, 2023 alongside Lady Eden and Ripmam, leading the army to this day. Shinzo also serves Club Penguin Armies‘ reporting team, where he proudly holds the position of Senior Reporter.

FIVE FANTASTIC FACTS

We sparked this off by asking Shinzo to share some fun facts about himself. From army experiences to interesting aspects of his real life, here’s what he shared:

1. I am not very interesting
2. I have a dog called Zikos who I very much love
3. Snork and I joined Templars 11 minutes apart from each other
4. My first army was the Club Penguin Socialist Movement
5. My wardrobe exclusively consists of the colours black, white, (dark) blue, and red

MYSTERY MESSAGE

In our next game, a mysterious friend of Shinzo’s sent him a message. Let us find out if Shinzo can guess correctly, and what this friend means to him!

Dear Shinzo Abe,
It’s you…? I can’t believe it’s really you… the former Prime Minister of Japan. I can’t believe you faked your demise just to lead this inferior Club Penguin army when you were leading something big as Japan itself. I don’t understand any of this, but you seem like a dictator now. Your regimes are equal to something you’d read in a book about a Soviet-controlled London.

You’ve changed – so has your hair… It seems that you’re losing quite a handful of it. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re living a double life even now, but back then your second life was regarding CPA, but now it’s probably about some stupid university course that means nothing to you.

Signed,
A Secret Admirer 😀

That’s tough. It could be many people because I see some references that many people I know would know. But by how it’s written I’d assume my secret admirer here is Doopus, though I could be very well wrong. However, if it is doopus, I have to say I’m very happy to have met him. A very fun and entertaining, but also smart and dedicated person. He joined WH when it wasn’t so active yet, so him becoming so engaged really meant something to me. And I’m very happy it turned out this way because you can’t ask for a more genuine person than him. Especially having him as Regimentarz (Leader in Training) now, seeing his growth and potential, I’m very optimistic and happy for the future of the WH under his kindness, fun, and competence. I’m sorry for whoever it actually was.

And Shinzo got it right! Congratulations.

WOULD YOU RATHER?

Now, we have challenged Shinzo’s decision-making, sending him into a bit of an existential crisis. Let’s see how well he handles it!

Would you rather lead an S/M Army to a stable Major Army or Lead a stable Major Army to a #1 Army?
I would rather lead an S/M Army to a stable Major Army. Albeit I don’t really know if leading a major army is something for me. I’m happy with WH being an S/M Army. I like that everything is calm and there is not much stress, apart from the one that we put onto ourselves. But if/when we rise to a Major Army I’ll definitely be happy with what we have achieved, although I already am.

TWO TRUTHS AND ONE LIE

I participated in WWVII during my time in Templars
I am (techinally) PZF Veteran
I got into CP Armies because of the RPF

The opportunity to partake in this fun is gladly extended to the community. Feel free to DM Shinzo with your attempt to guess the correct answer!

FINISH THE SENTENCES

1. If I could describe myself in a single word, it would be ‘confused’.

2. Leading a Club Penguin Army feels like appropriate punishment.

3. My favourite Club Penguin item is the Feathered Hat.

4. Someone I am eternally grateful to have met is impossible to say.

Now, as we wrap up this week’s edition of CPA Icebreakers, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Shinzo for providing us with an enjoyable and intriguing experience. It was truly exciting to break the ice with our esteemed Senior Reporter. Did you learn something new about Shinzo? Who would you like to see featured in the next edition of this column?
