Top 5 Moments of October 2024

As the year’s spookiest season wraps up, we now recap the top five moments that left a mark on it. With a brand new tournament, many wars coming to a resolution, and a fair share of controversy, October was certainly remarkable.

Like how it is done every month, the Club Penguin Armies staff team came together and hosted an internal vote for what we believed to be the “Top Five Moments” of October 2024. This time, we saw a decrease in the amount of moments to be voted – a total of 26. Regardless, it is still a great quantity that reflects how eventful this past month was. Without further ado, let us dive into the top five moments.

5. Winged Hussars Soar To Victory Against Elite Guardians

Written by: Robot

The war between the Winged Hussars and the Elite Guardians started on September 4 and reached its conclusion on October 9. The war initially unfolded as a strategic effort between brother allies to defend against the common threat posed by the Templars. Both armies engaged in fierce encounters, but in the end, the Winged Hussars emerged victorious, as the Guardians lost their land to the Army of Club Penguin after breaking a term in their force treaty. The conflict ended amicably on October 9 with a peace treaty, reaffirming the bond between the two armies.

4. The Purge?! People’s Imperial Confederation’s Leaders Depart

Written by: FatChicken

The second half of October was turbulent for the People’s Imperial Confederation. On October 17 the Confederates hosted their fifth anniversary, reaching a peak of 19 attendees. After their successful event, however, first-in-command Jojo Teri announced his departure from the army. At this point in time, it was officially announced that the army was on hiatus due to inactivity within the higher command ranks. Just two days later, another key leader – Snaqe– also stepped down, before the army was able to adjust to the initial retirement. The final blow came on October 23, when a third leader – Alucard – formally resigned. This ultimately marked a difficult period of transition for the army.

3. Club Penguin Journey Closes Amidst Controversy

Written by: Edu14463

On September 23, Club Penguin Journey, with hundreds of thousands of accounts, shut down amidst controversy. But what happened? In the early hours of September 22nd, a side server known as CPJ Cheats was hijacked by a hacker group that allegedly claimed to be the Pigeon Patrol. The server was transformed into a platform for exposing various claims, primarily targeting Amman, the CPPS administrator. The group later resorted to doxxing the CPPS staff members and leaking the entire staff logs, with the apparent goal of forcing the game to shut down. Undoubtedly, the external circumstances were staggering and the attempts to control the situation were not fruitful. Thus, in the following hours, Amman would inform the community that the CPPS would shut down for the safety of the users and the staff.

However, on October 9, in a surprising move, a notice was published on CP Journey’s server. The game’s staff announced the game would reopen on October 13. Furthermore, a formal statement was also published, in which the game willingly took accountability for some of the accusations directed at the staff. Moreover, the administration took some measures to ensure the safety of the community and the well-being of the staff. The complete statement can be accessed here.

2. Club Penguin Armies Hosts Blood Bowl; Two Winners Crowned

Written by: Robot

Project Conquest: Blood Bowl, held from October 5 to 24, featured ten armies battling for supremacy through strategic warfare rather than sheer strength. The tournament emphasized tactics and adaptability, with participants treating the map like a chessboard. A mid-event twist kept things unpredictable, and as the dust settled, the Winged Hussars claimed their first victory in the Small/Medium Division. Meanwhile, the Army of Club Penguin triumphed in the Major Division, after an intense competition with the Secret Service. The admins commended the strategic brilliance and dedication of all participants, making this a memorable event in CPA history.

1. Elite No More; Elite Guardians Shut Down Amidst Leader Coup & Controversy

Written by: NIKO

On October 20 we saw a coup d’état against Fitsuki, the former emperor of EGCP. The announcement claimed that Fitsuki was responsible for many cases of abuse of power and manipulation, among other things. This sparked significant controversy, with Fitsuki accusing the Consulate, the panel of guardians of the army, of staging a coup to “tarnish his reputation”. Following this event, former leaders Lass and Cobra returned as leaders, intending to keep the army running smoothly. However, the coup of Fitsuki led to a rebellion among the Guardians, leading some troops to leave the army and the website of the army being hijacked. An hour later, a post was published on their website, making serious accusations against members of the EGCP Consulate.

On October 22, the Elite Guardians founders officially declared the army closed. This occurred once they realized the site was outside their control, in addition to the incidents described above. Furthermore, they announced that any attempt to reopen the army without their formal permission would be invalid.
