Deep amid Project Conquest, the Spartans of Club Penguin have announced their shutdown. We shall delve into what caused their closure and what they plan for the future.
The Spartans of Club Penguin was formed on May 25, 2024, by Ethan/Mafuka, Skye Larsen, and Adan. Initially branded as the “Polar Operations Security Team”, their initial attempt at army formation failed on March 8. Receiving the blessing of the original Spartans of Club Penguin founders Lord Pain, alongside army legends Mustapha10x and Roberto, they acquired the name. The Spartans have been very active in the community during their time here. They would engage in a war against the Scars of Club Penguin and another against the Brownie4s of Club Penguin. They have also participated in the ongoing Project Conquest: Blood Bowl tournament, being among the final Small/Medium armies.
At the end of Project: Conquest, SPCP ultimately got eliminated. Soon after, on October 20th, Mafuka announced his retirement from the army. Just a day later, Skye Larsen went on to officially announce the closure of the SPCP. She stated that the current conditions of the SPCP were flawed. Furthermore, the announcement indicated that there may be a revival sometime in the future. The announcement was very vague, and it left many questioning the future plans of the SPCP team.
Following the shutdown, Club Penguin Armies contacted Adan and Mafuka, founders of the Spartans, for an interview and their input on the shutdown.
What led to the closure of Spartans?
Mafuka: The Spartans was being a failure so we decided to shutdown.
Adan: Spartans were being a failure which led to its sudden closure.
Will we witness a return from the Spartans in the future?
Mafuka: Yes in 2025.
Adan: Probably yes.
Do you have an outstanding memory that the Spartans left you with?
Mafuka: Ofcourse, warring against Scars.
Adan: Ah yes, allying with our greatest enemy Scars.
Are there any final pieces of wisdom you wish to impart to the community?
Mafuka: My fellow warriors, do not surrender!
Adan: Do not mess with SS.
The Spartans clarified that they may anticipate a return next year for another generation. With a significant legacy in this generation, they have definitely left their mark in the Small/Medium circle. What do you think of their shutdown? Do you think their next generation will continue to be a formidable S/M army?
