Since its creation in 2017, the Elite Guardians have been a prominent army within the community. Now, the Guardians celebrate its seventh anniversary.
The Elite Guardians were created on October 19th by Cookky2 and Edu14463. The idea of creating an army originally came in the form of a Nachos colony. However, with Club Penguin’s closure, it soon became somewhat impossible. Despite the setbacks, the Club Penguin army community survived, even though most armies shut down. Determined to make their vision come true, Edu and Cookky used CP Private Servers to create a Portuguese army.
Since its creation, the Guardians have had a long history of warfare, having been involved in numerous conflicts against armies like the Underground Mafias Army, and the Templars, with whom EGCP also developed a lasting rivalry. Additionally, they took on the Rebel Penguin Federation in World War VII, maxing 80+, and even participated in the 2018 Christmas Chaos tournament finals. The army shut down in 2020 before reopening last year, in 2023. The army soon picked up from where it left off and became a prominent army within the community, leading the charge for a more competitive community.
The Elite Guardians have been increasingly active within the past few months, participating in multiple wars. Some of the recent wars include a war against their allies Winged Hussars and a 104-battle classic against the Army of Club Penguin. Despite their losses in these wars, the Elite Guardians have been successful over the past year, even securing the Around The World Cup in June (2024) and war wins against the Templars and the Water Vikings.
On October 19, the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin officially celebrated its seventh anniversary. The ‘Culture Incentive Program’ was also announced to be in place for the anniversary week, which started on 7 October. This program has generally been put in place for special occasions, giving troops opportunities to gain rewards by completing tasks and attending events.
Undoubtedly, the anniversary brought a lot of hype into the army, seeing many members coming to celebrate the special occasion. Their anniversary event garnered a whopping 50 penguins on CPA Battleground. Members old and new, were encouraged to join in and celebrate the army’s seventh anniversary, both on and off CPAB. After the event festivities continued with a karaoke being held, helping them to wind down after an exciting day.
Club Penguin Armies talked with leader Fitsuki to discover his feelings about the occasion, and the army’s future objectives.
What did you think of the anniversary event?
I wasn’t there, but I imagine the members had a great time.
What are EGCP’s goals in future?
Retiring and reading an announcement saying I was laid off.
Is there a memory of an EGCP event that impacted you?
To be quite honest, the best moment was when I decided to leave and they made it look like I was couped. This army was already overwhelming me a lot. It was a deliverance.
Despite tensions occurring between Fitsuki, the leader at the time, and the army, EGCP’s seventh anniversary seems to have been a success. But what happened after this event took place to get such a response from Fitsuki? Will we see the Guardians celebrate another anniversary in the future?
