Welcome to the eighth edition of Army Rivalries, a column in which we discuss Club Penguin Armies’ intense feuds. In this edition, we’ll look at the conflicts between the Army Republic and Rebel Penguin Federation.
Rising tensions
Throughout November 2015, the Army Republic was unusually quiet and often appeared in the bottom half of Club Penguin Army Central’s Top Ten rankings. However, the silence ended when AR declared war on the Rebel Penguin Federation on November 18, 2015. This decision was because a former AR leader, Ace, believed it would boost troop activity and generate hype within the army.
In response to Ace’s comments and AR declaring war on the Rebels, RPF responded forcefully. They declared that while AR may be on their server Tuxedo, the Rebels would ensure it’s the last time. The Rebels promised to defend their land.
Following their promise to defend their land, former Rebel leader Nikunj67 posted an announcement to RPF on November 19. He urged the army to focus on recruiting, as AR and RPF had been long-time enemies. Nikunj67 didn’t want the Rebels to face another loss, so he emphasized the need to grow the army through recruitment.
War period
Battle of SnowBoard
The first battle was for the server SnowBoard. AR reached a maximum size of 19, while the Rebel’s highest size was 12. It was noted that AR had stronger tactics and a size advantage, which boosted their dominance throughout the battle. Despite this, former RPF leader Elmikey decided to surrender and allow AR to take the land.
Battle of IceBound
The next battle was on November 20, 2015 for the land of IceBound, where AR attempted to invade RPF. Throughout the battle, RPF dominated in size. RPF initially sought a tie, but it was later agreed that the battle ended with RPF as the victors, successfully defending IceBound.
Battle of Zipline, Walrus, Bigfoot
The next day, November 21, 2015, AR targeted the Rebel’s territory, Zipline, and claimed victory after RPF surrendered. Following the invasion of Zipline, on November 22, 2015, AR continued their advance and attacked Walrus. RPF decided to surrender, handing the server over to AR.
RPF attempted to schedule an AUSIA invasion of AR’s empire, as AR did not have a strong AUSIA division. However, after negotiations, RPF agreed to turn the invasions into raids.
After the invasions of Zipline and Walrus, AR moved on to invade the server Big Foot. In this battle, AR once again had a size advantage, which contributed to their dominance. The sizes were 16 to 11 in favor of AR. Due to this advantage, AR successfully invaded the Rebel’s land, Big Foot.
On November 24, 2015, there were two battles: one was an RPF invasion and the other an AR invasion. The servers involved were not specified by CPAC. However, AR emerged victorious in both battles.
Battle of Beanie, Sparkle, White House
On November 25, 2015, AR and RPF faced three battles. The first battle was RPF’s invasion of Beanie. AR managed a size of 20 during their defense of Beanie. This advantage led to AR successfully defending their land.
The day continued with the RPF invasion of Sparkle. This battle followed a similar pattern to the previous one, with AR maintaining a larger size and maxing out at 18. AR ended up being the victors of this battle and defended their land, Sparkle.
Finally, the last battle of the day was the invasion of White House, where AR decided to attack the Rebels. This was the final invasion before AR moved on to invade RPF’s capital. However, the Rebels did not show up to defend their land. Since it was a no-show, AR were declared the victors by default, and the land was given to them.
Battle of Tuxedo
After weeks of fighting, the war was finally nearing its end. The final act of the war was Army Republic’s invasion of RPF’s capital server, Tuxedo. During this battle, AR reached a maximum of 43 troops online. However, once again, the Rebels chose not to log on to defend their capital. As a result, AR successfully invaded Tuxedo.
conclusion
After the final invasion of RPF’s capital, Tuxedo, RPF surrendered and agreed to a treaty. This treaty granted AR control of Tuxedo, Snow Board, and Zipline. Lorenzo, former CPAC Executive Producer, commented that this war was notably balanced and differed from others. Unlike many armies that create toxic posts, multi-log, and make accusations, AR and RPF focused mainly on battling. They handled the war maturely, often reaching agreements on most issues and maintaining a fair mindset.
The war between the Army Republic and Rebel Penguin Federation was noted as one of the best wars of 2015. Due to low levels of toxicity throughout their battles and frequent compromises, the war was relatively smooth for both sides. Both armies often admitted when they were defeated. Unlike many wars that become messy and result in exposes and accusations, the AR and RPF war was handled with great professionalism. What are your thoughts on the war between AR and RPF? Do you agree that some of the best wars are those handled with mutual respect and understanding?
