To the surprise of many throughout the army community, Winged Hussars leader Lady Eden has announced her resignation. In the absence of the army’s Monarch, what can we expect from the Hussars?
On Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, Lady Eden officially announced her decision to retire from the Winged Hussars. She had served as a Monarch of the Hussars in the army since it returned on the 17th of December, 2023. Citing her studies and personal life, Eden stated that she no longer had the time to fulfil her role as leader. The Hussars boasted a maximum size of 18 troops online at her retirement event, with many members of the army community attending to show their support. Having played a significant role in WH’s new generation, Eden has now adopted the role of Advisor in the army.
Eden has shown great enthusiasm for Club Penguin and its armies over a prolonged period, as she has served in several armies for over 15 years. Joining Club Penguin in 2006, Eden first served in numerous notable armies such as the Nachos in 2009. According to her, in October 2023, she did not expect to return to the community for the foreseeable future. Yet, following talks with WH creator Shinzō, she managed to find her place in the Hussars. Offered a leadership role in December, Eden undoubtedly assisted in establishing WH as a significant player in the Small/Medium community.
Club Penguin Armies spoke with Lady Eden to learn more about her departure.
What was the reason behind your departure?
The reason for my departure is simple – real-life priorities. I graduate with a Masters degree in a few months time and have many exciting prospects ahead of me, and continuing as an army leader would mean I am likely neglecting these valuable opportunities. It was time to really focus on continuing to progress in my real life profession and make time for more important things, also keeping my wellbeing in my thoughts too.
How do you feel your army will continue to operate after your leave?
Well, I have full trust that my co-leaders will be amazing at continuing to push the Winged Hussars further and strive to improve in my absence. Prior to my departure, I spoke with the team through an extensive list of updates and futureproof plans to ensure we’re in a good position even after my departure – I trust that these will be fulfilled and Winged Hussars will be on the rise.
Do you or your army have plans to induct a new leader following your leave?
Of course. We’ve spent the past few months extensively training our Regimentarz (Leader in Training), Nicolas, and he has full potential to be on his way to Monarch pretty soon. My retirement wasn’t unexpected, so we’ve had plenty of time to prepare and train him. Nicolas has led many battles alongside us leaders as we have allowed him the time, space and guidance to put his training to good use and lead actual battles!
What are your most favourite memories of your army career?
There’s too many to specifically name so I’ll just say one of my favourites from my most recent tenure; Wojna Prestiżowa/The Prestige War vs PIC – some very fond memories and I think we had a great shot at proving our capabilities, I really enjoyed leading this war.
Do you have any message to your army or the army community? If so, what is it?
NIC O NAS, BEZ NAS – NOTHING ABOUT US, WITHOUT US! God bless you all!
Though the Winged Hussars are left without Eden, she appears confident in the abilities of her former colleagues to achieve success. While the future changes in the Hussars’ leadership remains unknown, Eden indicates that the army has had enough time to prepare for her absence. Club Penguin Armies wishes her the best of luck in future endeavours! How do you think Eden’s retirement will impact the Hussars?
