Welcome back to Army Front, the column in which we dive into the achievements of this week’s standout army. This week, we will delve into the successes of the Rebel Penguin Federation, a remarkable and historic Major Army.
The Rebel Penguin Federation started as a rebellion against the Underground Mafias Army on May 8th, 2007, led by Commando717. Surprisingly for many, the army turned into a superpower in the following months. However, after the retirement of Commando, RPF entered its Dark Age. His successors failed to bring stability to the army. Throughout its history, the RPF has been involved in numerous conflicts and wars, often against the Army of Club Penguin and the Nachos. It has experienced periods of both dominance and decline, with leadership being transferred back and forth to various individuals. Nonetheless, it has consistently remained one of the largest and most influential armies.
With comes and goings, it was under Elmikey‘s leadership in 2013 that the Rebels attained their first tournament victory in a three-way battle against the Nachos and the Doritos in the Legends Cup IV. The rise that followed was one of the greatest in the history of the army. Keeping up with their success streak, the Rebels would also win Christmas Chaos V against the Nachos. In the following year, they would win their second Legends Cup, beating the Water Vikings in the tournament finals. This same finals took place again in the following cup, the Legends Cup VII, in which the Rebels secured their third LC win.
Noticeably, even though the Rebels often faced many internal struggles and got involved in several major wars, such as World War III, the army remained a constant tournament-winning machine. This trend would continue in the Club Penguin Pirate Server era.
The RPF was one of the few armies that moved to Club Penguin Rewritten after the closure of the original game. Army Legend Silverburg took the helm and managed to take the army to huge sizes of 70+. Moreover, the leadership of the army at this time changed quite a bit. The most notable figures were xxToySoldierxx, Elmikey, Popsiclebeak, Chip, and Twitchy543. Under the experienced leadership, the army trained its successors. Even though the army was, ironically, very isolated at the time, not partaking in community tournaments and events, the Rebels became a superpower and dominated the community from 2017 to early 2018.
The event that symbolized RPF’s decline in the community, leaving it isolated once again for a certain time, was World War VII. Seeking to overthrow the army from its leadership position, the Red Dawn Alliance, composed of the Elite Guardians and the Templars, managed to deal the first defeat to RPF in the era of CPPS. In the following months, the army would launch their Operation: Exodus, rebranding to Rebel Federation and branching to other games besides Club Penguin. The army struggled and was never able to achieve its former glory.
In June 2019, RPF returned to the army scene by joining Club Penguin Armies, rivaling once again against the Elite Guardians in wars and tournaments. Under the leadership of Ultipenguinj, the army would soon rise again. Fast forward to 2020, and the Rebels were once again a superpower. The leadership was now in the hands of Crazzyhead and Cosmo, who both would lead until 2021. Under their leadership, they led RPF through one of the most massive tournaments, Christmas Chaos X. Showcasing outstanding performances, the Rebels were able to win three consecutive Christmas Chaos – the XI and XII iterations. The Rebels also went on to win the latest March Madness edition against the Help Force. Their recent successes are placed under the leadership of the likes of F6xier, Elexonck – who was inducted Army Legend in 2022 – and Link3000.
The Rebel Penguin Federation has been consistent with sizes and often displays high placements in the weekly Top Ten rankings. At the beginning of February, they got first place right after concluding their Winter Olympics. With the addition of Gabgeirl to the Rebel leadership, it will be interesting to see which changes in the army will take place in the future.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Gabgeirl to understand her perspective on RPF’s successes and her plans for the army.
RPF definitely has a proud history with battles and tournaments. It’s not just about the amount of people who turn up for us on the day of the battle, but also making sure that everyone is training ahead of time to be at their best. This goes for both troops, and leadership. During battles you never know what’s going to happen, so making sure that people are prepared is really important. As for me personally, I want to make sure to continue this legacy, and also make sure my own leadership skills are the best they can be.
It is clear that the Rebels are a machine and undoubtedly a historical powerhouse within the Major Armies. With changes in the army’s leadership and projects set to be launched, the RPF is preparing to grow once again. Do you think the Rebels will win another March Madness iteration? What are your thoughts on the army’s history? Do you believe RPF is capable of becoming the dominating army once more?
Good grief. They have become a powerhouse, in a good way.
